Pooja was accused of appearing in the civil services exam more than the prescribed limit by giving wrong information about her age, parents and changing her identity. There is no information about how many UPSC attempts were given: Due to Khedkar’s case, UPSC examined the data of more than 15 thousand candidates from 2009 to 2023. It was found that apart from Pooja, no other candidate had given more attempts than the limit prescribed under the CSE rules.

Pooja had also appeared in the exam by changing her name and her parents’ names several times, so UPSC’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) could not track the number of her attempts.
