India lost DRS in the 14th over of Bangladeshi innings. Here Siraj’s good length ball hit the pad of captain Shanto. Shanto wanted to flick the ball on the leg side. Siraj made a strong appeal. The umpire gave not out. Indian captain Rohit was not ready to take DRS, but wicketkeeper Pant convinced him. After watching the replays it was found that the ball was pitched outside leg. The umpire’s decision of not out remained intact and India lost one of its DRS.

5. Stumps early on first day due to rain

Play stopped twice due to rain.

It was raining continuously in Kanpur before the second Test, due to which the Meteorological Department had also issued a high alert for rain. The match started late on Friday. The match, which was supposed to start at 9:30, was delayed by an hour. After this, there was heavy rain even at lunch time. After which the game was started. But it rained again after the 35th over. Due to which the match had to be stopped there. An hour after this, at around 3 pm, the umpires called stumps for the first day.
