An incident of mob lynching has come to light in Mumbai, Maharashtra. A 27-year-old man was beaten to death by 10-15 people in front of his family in Malad East. The incident is of October 12. The video of the incident went viral on Monday.
He had an argument with an auto driver over overtaking, after which several auto drivers and local shopkeepers beat him up.
When the victim’s mother lay down on him to save him, the mob also kicked her. Meanwhile, the victim’s wife suffered a miscarriage in the fight.
When the victim’s father tried to stop the mob, he got an eye injury. Due to this his left eye got permanently damaged.

The family was going to buy a car on Dussehra. According to initial information, the victim was a member of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). His name is said to be Akash Main. He was going to buy a new car with his family on Dussehra on October 12, when the incident happened. An auto overtook his car near Malad railway station, leading to an altercation between a rickshaw driver and Akash.
As the dispute escalated, the rickshaw driver along with his friends and local shopkeepers attacked Akash. They kept kicking Akash continuously. Due to this he suffered serious injuries. He was taken to the trauma center of a hospital, where Akash died.
Police arrested 9 accused A case has been registered at Dindoshi police station regarding this incident. Police issued a statement saying that there was a clash over overtaking in Goregaon, Mumbai, in which a person was beaten to death. 9 accused were arrested and presented in a court from where they were sent to police custody till 22 October.
