Special NIA court has given a big verdict in the Malegaon blast case in Maharashtra. The court acquitted seven accused and made it clear that the claim of former ATS officer Mehboob Muzawar was unfounded that he was ordered to arrest Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat. Muzawar had said that he had refused to obey the order.
Special NIA Judge AK Lahoti clarified in a long decision over 1000 pages that there is no solid basis in this argument. This argument was kept in the court by the lawyer of accused Sudhakar Dwivedi. It cited the old statements of Mehboob Muzawar. The defense had claimed that under political pressure, an attempt was made to target Bhagwat to create a narrator of saffron terrorism.
Mehboob Muzawar had alleged that he was given by senior ATS officials Mohan Bhagwat Had ordered the arrest of On Thursday too, he reiterated his point that the purpose of that time was to prove that saffron is terrorism. However, he also said that he had refused to follow this order, as there was no evidence of Bhagwat’s involvement in the investigation.
The court declared these statements meaningless. In his order, Judge Lahoti rejected the defense argument, which was based on the statement of the then investigating officer ACP Mohan Kulkarni. Kulkarni had made it clear that Mujawar was not ordered to arrest any member of the RSS. He was only deployed to find out the absconding accused Ramji Kalsangra and Sandeep Dange.
This decision of the court not only determines the legal direction in the case, but also ends the long -standing dispute, in which the name of the RSS chief was added.
