Due to chemical leakage in Bhageria Chemicals Company of Boisar, smog spread in the entire area.
Oleum gas leaked at around 2 pm on Monday afternoon in a chemical plant located in Palghar district of Maharashtra. Officials said that as soon as the information was received, fire brigade, NDRF and many emergency teams reached the spot.
Rescue teams are trying to stop gas leakage from the plant. As a precaution, the administration has shifted about 2600 people from the area to safe places. At present, there is no information about any casualty in the incident.

Palghar SP Yatish Deshmukh said – Information about oleum gas leak was received at Bhageria Chemicals Company located in Boisar at 2 pm on Monday.
The district administration and fire brigade are carrying out operations to control the gas leak. At present the leakage continues. Due to oleum gas, a cloud like white smoke has formed over Boiser.
He said that residential and industrial areas in the downwind direction are being evacuated and blockade is also being done in the area. Police have appealed to the citizens to go against the direction of wind and smoke, reach a safe place and not panic.
