The rhetoric between India and Bangladesh has intensified regarding the demonstration outside the Bangladesh High Commission in the Indian capital New Delhi. This demonstration was organized in protest against the murder of Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal made it clear that this demonstration was very small and peaceful. There was no threat to the security of Bangladesh High Commission.

He said that misleading propaganda is being spread in some media organizations of Bangladesh regarding this incident. The reality is that only 20 to 25 youth were involved in the demonstration.

Bangladesh has rejected India’s statement and said that the situation was much more serious than this. Dhaka said that it is not right to call this incident a misleading propaganda.

Bangladesh said- India described the matter as light

Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Advisor M. Tauheed Hossain said that India has presented this incident in a more light than necessary.

He raised questions as to how a group of 25–30 people reached such a secure diplomatic area. He said that under normal circumstances this should not have been possible unless he was allowed to reach there.

Tauheed Hussain also said that the slogans raised in the demonstration were not limited only to protest against the murder, but other statements were also made. He claimed that the news published in Bangladeshi media was not misleading and was largely true.
