Keir Starmer announces the formation of a government.
The Labour Party has returned to power in Britain after 14 years. Former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has resigned from his post after 620 years. Voting for the general election was held in Britain on 4 July, after which the results were declared on 5 July.
In the results, the Labor Party has got 412 seats. Sunak’s Conservative Party has got 121 seats. The results of 2 seats are not out yet. Sir Keir Starmer, who leads the Labor Party, has become the next Prime Minister of Britain.
Earlier, Sunak accepted defeat and apologised to the party. He also called Starmer and congratulated him on the victory. After the defeat, Sunak left PM residence 10 Downing Street. He got emotional and said that his family used to celebrate Diwali here. He called Britain the best country in the world.
