Police officials said that a crowd of people started gathering on Luxor Street in Leeds’ Harehills area at 5 pm local time on Thursday. Soon after this, the crowd turned violent. Children were also included in this crowd. Police are monitoring the entire area with a helicopter.

Britain’s Home Minister Yvette Cooper said that she is shocked by this violence. She has also sought a report from the local police on the matter. She said that there is no place for such violence in Britain. I am in constant touch with the officials.

‘Appeal to people to stay at home
Councillor Salma Arif of Gipton and Harehills has appealed to people to stay indoors. After the videos of the violence went viral, people from nearby areas also joined in. According to the police, the situation has returned to normal now. But people have been instructed not to go out of their homes unless it is necessary. However, there is no news of anyone being injured so far.

Local people said that for the past few days our children are being kept in a child care home. If the administration feels that a child is not being brought up properly under the care of family members, then such children should be kept in a child care home.
