बाढ़ प्रभावित बांग्लादेश को 83 लाख रुपए देगा सिंगापुर: बाढ़ से 58 लाख लोग प्रभावित, 71 लोगों की मौत; बीमारियों के फैलने का खतरा बढ़ा

So far 71 people have died due to floods in Bangladesh.

Singapore has promised to give 83 lakh rupees to Bangladesh which is facing the floods. This help will be given with the help of Singapore Red Cross Society. Earlier, Singapore Red Cross had set a target of collecting 42 lakh rupees to help Bangladesh on 3 September.

The Singapore Red Cross will hand over the money to the Bangladesh Red Cross Society. This will help in running emergency services in Bangladesh. Singapore’s Foreign Ministry said that this contribution will help in humanitarian relief efforts and the needs of the flood affected people.

58 lakh people have been affected by the floods in Bangladesh. At least 5 lakh people have been given shelter in more than 3 thousand evacuation centers. According to media reports, 71 people have died so far due to the floods.

Apart from this, as the flood water recedes, the risk of spreading diseases has also increased. UNICEF has also demanded assistance of about Rs 300 crore to help the people affected by the flood.

Feni district in Bangladesh was the worst affected by the floods. Here a woman and child had to go on a boat made from the trunk of a banana tree.

Due to heavy rains, the flood water level increased, which further increased the problem.

Floods in 12 districts of Bangladesh, blame on India Severe floods in Bangladesh have affected 12 districts. Hundreds of houses were submerged in water due to the floods in south-eastern Bangladesh. Some leaders of the interim government including Khaleda Zia’s Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) also blamed India for this flood. According to the Dhaka Tribune, Nahid Islam, an advisor in Bangladesh’s Information and Broadcasting Ministry, said that India released water without warning. This is inhuman.

BNP party’s joint general secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi had alleged that India deliberately opened the gate of the Dumbur dam built on the Gomti river in Tripura, which caused such a severe flood. He had said that India does not care about the people of Bangladesh.

India said- we are not responsible for the flood The Indian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on August 23 saying that India is not responsible for the floods in Bangladesh. The Foreign Ministry said, “There is a rumor in Bangladesh that the floods are caused by the opening of the gate of the Dumbur Dam in Tripura. This is not true.”

The ministry had clarified that the area around the Gomti river flowing through India and Bangladesh has received the highest rainfall this year. This has caused problems on both sides. Flooding in the rivers between the two countries is a common problem, which the people of both countries have to deal with. Cooperation of both countries is needed to deal with this.

The ministry also said that Dumbur Dam is more than 120 km away from the Bangladesh border. It is a low-height dam (about 30 metres), which generates electricity and the power goes into the grid. Bangladesh also gets 40 MW of electricity from Tripura.
