A sensational case of theft of goods worth crores of rupees before reaching the warehouse of Flipkart has come to light in Khanna, Punjab. Khanna police have registered a case against driver Nasir (resident of Kakrala, Bharatpur, Rajasthan) and his helper Chet for theft of goods worth more than Rs 1.21 crore from the truck of Camion Logistics Solutions Private Limited.
In the complaint given to the police, Pritam Sharma, who is working in field operations in the said transport company, said that on September 27, a truck carrying 11 thousand 677 pieces of goods had left for the Flipkart warehouse in Khanna from Bhiwandi (Mumbai). Driver Nasir and helper Chet were present in the truck. When the truck reached the warehouse, Nasir went out and Chet parked the car and left the warehouse.
Later the company official said that during scanning, 234 items were found missing. The stolen goods include 221 iPhones, 5 other mobiles, clothes, cosmetics and perfumes, whose value is estimated at Rs 1 crore 21 lakh 68 thousand 373. Police say that this incident happened due to the collusion of the truck driver and the helper.
DSP Amritpal Singh Bhati said that the police is investigating the technical evidence. CCTV footage and digital lock data are being scrutinized. It is also being investigated as to how the high security digi-lock installed in Mumbai got opened. At the same time, this big theft that happened during Flipkart’s “Big Billion Sale” has raised serious questions on the company’s security system. The company has started an internal investigation, while the police are conducting raids in search of the two accused.
