Filmmaker Manish Gupta has been accused of killing his driver with a knife. A case has also been registered against him at Versova police station on 6 June. According to officials, the incident occurred after a dispute over the driver’s salary. However, the filmmaker has not been arrested yet.
According to the police officer, driver Rajibul Islam Lashkar lodged an FIR against the filmmaker, stating that he has been working with Manish Gupta for 3 years. He gets 23 thousand rupees salary.

Islam accused Manish Gupta that he never gave him salary on time. Not only this, he was also fired on 30 May. On June 3, Lashkar called Manish and demanded the outstanding salary, then Gupta told him that the payment would be done only when he returned to work again. Believing this, Lashkar returned to work again on 4 June, but despite this he did not get salary.
At around 8:30 pm on the night of 5 June, when both were present in the office of the directors in Versova. Lashkar once again asked about his salary, which made him angry and shouted at Lashkar. He then allegedly picked up the kitchen knife and attacked Lashkar’s right part of the body.

As soon as the Lashkar came out of the office and made a voice for help. Another driver and building watchman nearby helped. After this, Lashkar Auto-rickshaw rushed to Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle West, where he was treated.


The driver then lodged a complaint against the director at Versova police station. On the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered against Manish Gupta under sections 118 (2), 115 (2) and 352 of the Indian Justice Code. However, Manish Gupta’s lawyer has described all the allegations against the director as baseless.
