Australia has announced to recognize Palestine as a separate country. According to the BBC report, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said on Monday that a decision will be taken in September.
Earlier, Britain, France and Canada have also announced to recognize Palestine. Two weeks ago, when France announced to recognize Palestine as independent country, Albanese said that Australia is not going to take any such step.
Now Albanese said that the decision to recognize as a separate Palestine country was taken after talks with leaders from Britain, France, New Zealand and Japan in the last two weeks.
At the same time, New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters said that his country is also considering to recognize Palestine as a separate country.

Albanese said- ignoring Israel law
Albanese described Gaza’s condition as ‘the worst dream in the world’. He said that Israel is constantly ignoring international law. Now the best way to end violence in West Asia and to prevent war, hunger and suffering in Gaza is to state solution, in which political path is adopted, not military.
The Australian PM said that he also talked to Netanyahu about this. He realized that his arguments are similar to a year ago. He told Netanyahu that no longer a military solution, but a political solution is needed.
Conditions laid on the recognition of separate country
Australia has also laid down some conditions behind recognizing Palestine. PM Albanese said that Palestine Authority (PA) would have to promise that it would eliminate armed factions and militia in its control areas.
Albanese said that Mahmood Abbas, chairman of the Palestinian Authority, has assured him that Hamas will have no role in any future Palestinian state. Albanese said that PA has also talked about ending the system in which money is given to the families fighting for Israel. This is often called the ‘price of murder’.
Apart from this, Albanese also demanded to hold general elections and recognize Israel’s right to existence. The Palestinian Authority said on the decision of the Australian government that getting a separate country status promotes their right to self -decision.
The Palestinian Authority is a type of temporary government formed in the West Bank, formed in 1994 under the Oslo Agreement. Its job is to run administration for Palestinians in West Bank and parts of Gaza Strip and take over police, education, health and some local matters.
