Angela withdrew from the match in just 46 seconds and Iman was declared the winner. Angela claimed that Imam’s punch hit her very hard. She had never felt anything like that before.

In fact, Algeria’s Iman Khalifa is accused of having very high levels of testosterone in her body. Khalifa failed the International Boxing Association’s gender test in 2023. According to the test report, Iman has XY chromosomes, which are found in men. After this, she could not play the tournament.

Regarding the controversy, former US President Donald Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social and said, “I will keep men away from women’s sports.” Trump also shared the video of the match with the post.

After losing the match, Italian boxer Angela started crying.

Meanwhile, JD Vance, the vice-presidential candidate from Trump’s party, said, “Kamala Harris’s views on gender are similar to this match. How can a man be allowed to kill a woman? This is nonsense. All leaders should criticize this.”

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has also supported Angela. He said that there is no place for men in women’s sports. Italy’s Prime Minister Georgia Meloni has also supported her country’s player Angela.

On the other hand, the Olympic Committee has given clarification in the matter. IOC said in its statement, “Khalifi has become a victim of the sudden and arbitrary decision of IBA. Last year, when the World Championship was about to end, she was suddenly disqualified. This decision was taken by the CEO of IBA.”

What is a gender test?
In sports, gender test is done to test the gender of a player. In this, the level of male hormones in an athlete is detected. If the level of male hormones in the concerned athlete is more than the prescribed amount, then he is barred from participating in the competition.
