In the second note, Supriya says- None of your men are responding. Don’t play games with us. What happened to the money? Gupta had said- You have all the money. Call immediately. Elections are going on and we need money. In the third note, Supriya is saying – Boss, why are you not converting all the bitcoins into cash. Their price is also favourable. We need funds. Don’t worry about enquiry. When we come to power we will handle it. You just do it.

Former IPS Ravindranath says that the then Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta and the then Deputy Police Commissioner Bhagyashree Nautake, who handled cyber crime investigation, were involved in the Bitcoin scam.

Important points of Rabindranath’s statement…

  • I was in jail wondering what had happened, what the matter was and why I was implicated. There were other people also with me. We were working to find out the truth. One of the witnesses against us is Gaurav Mehta, who is an employee of an audit firm named Sarathi Associates, two days ago he called me several times for 4-5 hours.
  • Gaurav told that when Amit Bhardwaj was arrested in 2018, he had a cryptocurrency hardware wallet. It was changed by the then Commissioner Amitabh Gupta and another wallet was kept. We were arrested, but the real culprit was Amitabh Gupta and his team.
  • At the behest of Amitabh Gupta, Gaurav Mehta went to Dubai several times and converted Bitcoin into cash. The same cash is being used in Maharashtra elections. Mehta sent me some voice notes that Supriya had sent him on WhatsApp. In this she was asking for cash in exchange for Bitcoin.
  • During a chat with me, Gaurav Mehta alleged that he wanted to come out of this, but his life would be in danger. I have all the screenshots and audio. I am ready to hand them over to the investigating agencies. I am ready to fully support the investigation.
