The decision was lifted and pronounced by the court of Additional Sessions Judge Sunil Kumar Kaushik. A large number of police forces remained deployed outside the court during the hearing on Saturday. Traffic was also stopped on the way to the court. However, the accused joined the hearing through video conferencing from jail.

Apart from these, Raja Don, Balveer Thakur, Anees Khan, Monu Tantuvay, Anish Pathan, Amjad Pathan, Shriram Sharma, Lokesh Patel, Sohail Pathan, Shahrukh Khan, Bhan Singh, Akash Parihar, Sandeep Singh Tomar, Khubchand alias Nanna, Vikram Singh, Sukhendra. Athaya, Mazhar Khan, Kishan Parihar, Sohail Khan, Fukulu Parihar, Shailendra Tomar have also been sentenced to life imprisonment. Meanwhile, accused Trilok Singh is absconding. While one accused Vikas Patel has been declared innocent.

Devendra Chaurasia was attacked with sticks and rods Devendra’s brother Mahesh Chaurasia had told the police that he has an asphalt plant in Dholiya Kheda village, where he looks after the work along with brother Devendra. On March 15, 2019, around 10:45 am, brother Devendra, sons Somesh and Animesh had gone to open the plant along with Ashok Chaurasia of the family.
While opening the door of the office, Kaushalendra Singh, Govind Singh and other accused arrived in black and white cars, red jeep and four bikes. Everyone attacked with sticks and iron rods. Kaushalendra alias Chandu Singh attacked Devendra with a rod. Golu and Shri Ram beat them with sticks on their hands, legs and chest. When the people of the plant ran, the accused ran away with the vehicles.
All the injured were taken to hospital. From here he was referred to the district hospital. Devendra Chaurasia died during treatment.
Hata District President Inderpal Patel is the son of former District Panchayat President Shiv Charan Patel.
Devendra was murdered due to election rivalry. Devendra Chaurasia (56) was considered a strong leader of BSP in Hata area. In the year 2004, Devendra had contested elections from Hata assembly constituency on BSP ticket. In the year 2014, he had also tried his luck from Damoh Lok Sabha constituency. After being in BSP for many years, he joined Congress on 12 March 2019. It is said that this very thing displeased the accused.
Rambai’s husband’s name was removed from the murder case Hata’s then police station in-charge DK Singh had removed the name of Rambai’s husband Govind Singh from the murder case during the investigation. After this the victim’s family reached the Supreme Court. SIT made Govind Singh an accused and arrested him from Bhind. Presented in court on 22 March 2020.
Rambai’s husband Govind Singh is lodged in Jabalpur Central Jail. Brother-in-law Kaushalendra Singh Sagar, Hata District President Inderpal Patel is in Hata jail.
