Putin said that many new things will be added to the country’s nuclear doctrine. This also includes the use of nuclear weapons against missile or drone attacks against Russia. Putin said that even if there is a large-scale missile or drone attack on Russian territory which poses a serious threat to the country’s sovereignty, then Russia can still use nuclear weapons.

Putin said that if a non-nuclear country attacks Russia with the support of a nuclear-armed country, it will be considered an attack by both countries. He said that Russia’s nuclear weapons are the biggest guarantee of the security of the country and its citizens.

President Putin met with the Security Council in Moscow on Wednesday to discuss nuclear policy.

Putin said- change in nuclear policy is the need of the hour Putin’s statement came at a time when Ukraine is seeking permission to use long-range missiles in Russia. Putin said that changes in the conditions for the use of nuclear weapons were necessary because the world is changing rapidly.

Britain has given Ukraine Storm Shadow missiles, while the US has given it Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles. These are long-range deadly missiles that can accurately hit targets up to 300 km.

Ukraine can use these missiles only within its own borders, not in Russia. Zelensky wants these sanctions to be lifted so that he can use long-range weapons within Russia.

Zelensky is currently on a US tour. He may ask Biden for permission to fire long-range missiles at Russia.
