The incident took place in Dedoor Krishna Nagar of Mufassil police station area of the district. Houses were set on fire at 7:30 pm. The fire was brought under control with the help of police and fire brigade. Police have arrested 10 people. A large number of police force has been deployed in the village.
Sadar SDO Akhilesh Kumar, SDPO Anoj Kumar, SDPO Sunil Kumar along with police from many police stations including Mufussil, Nagar, Bundelkhand have reached the spot.
SDPO Sadar-2 Sunil Kumar said that ’20 to 25 houses have been set on fire. There is no report of anyone dying. The main reason for the incident is said to be land dispute. Raids are being conducted to arrest the people whose names have come up in the investigation. The police will not spare the culprits.’

The villagers allege that ‘hundreds of people including Nandu Paswan of Pran Bigha attacked the village together on Wednesday evening at around 7:30 pm. Along with this, they also started firing bullets. Meanwhile, many villagers were also beaten up. After this, 80-85 houses were set on fire.’

The villagers said that ‘They were living at this place for many years. The land belongs to the Bihar government. The land mafia had its eyes on it. They were also selling the land for some time. We were opposing this.’
The DM said that ’10 people have been arrested. People are being identified on the basis of the statements of the villagers. A large number of district administration and police teams are camping. In view of security, magistrates and a large number of police have been deployed.
