Famous actor of Bengali cinema, Propenjit Chatterjee’s film ‘Devi Chaudurani’ is going to release soon. The actor recently had a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar about this film. It is a period drama film. In this film, Pronsonjeet will be seen in tremendous action and intensity avatar. The actor said that ‘Goddess Chaudurani’ is part of our cultural heritage. Proud to be a part of such a film.

Question- What has been the most special reason for choosing this film?

answer- There were three major reasons to do this film. The first reason is that I had not yet worked on Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel. The second reason was its script, which I found very strong and right according to time. Also, director Subrajit Mitra’s work and his detailing impressed me a lot. The third and biggest reason was my character Bhavani Pathak, who is very powerful and spiritual. Through this film, Goddess Chaudurani is not just a story, but a symbol of motherhood and society’s strength.

Question- Often we do not know about many unknown heroes of our history. Talking about women warriors, the first name is taken by Rani Laxmibai, but was Goddess Chaudurani before her? “

answer- Yes, there were many warriors before him. Like seeing the film Kesari Part 2, I also came to know that there were names about which people do not discuss. Goddess Chaudhurani and Bhavani Pathak were very important characters who fought the British, but in their limited places.

Question- People often say that Hindus and Muslims were different, is it true?

answer- No, history suggests that it was not so. Bhavani Pathak (a monk) and Majru Shah (a fakir) together fought with the British between 1700–1740. His fight was not only with the British, but also for the poor dying of hunger. He said that first people should get food, only then the real fight will be done.

Question- How important is this story in today’s India, where we divide on the basis of language, caste and religion? If the message of the film is understood correctly, can these distances be erased?

answer- These partitions have been created by our own people. The fight between Hindu, Muslim and Sannyasi was in history, but it was all for the country.

Question- The inspiring stories of Bhavani Pathak and Devi Chaudhurani reached the new generation, so is it necessary to watch this film?

answer- This film must be seen so that generation Jade knows that our freedom has been roots from 200-250 years ago. Just as my Jubilee series, children came to know about the history of films, so this story will associate them with their heritage and struggle.

Question- When such films come, new people feel that there will be only messages, entertainment or commercial things. How did you take care that messages were found in the film and entertainment?

answer- The film has complete entertainment and also has a lot of action. But we did not change the soul of the story just to make commercial. The film is not slow, but the story is told in a very classy and different style. In this, the girls’ team has a strong fight, seeing that women will also play seats in the theater. Especially in Bengal, people are very excited about this film.

Question- You have played every role very well in acting. But in this film, AAP action and intense avatar looks different. What did you prepare for this?

answer- I made a lot of internal preparations for this character. This could not be done only by acting, so I stayed alone and practiced meditation. Physical hard work also had to be done and some skills of old times had to be learned again. Also, Bengali language was pronounced difficult because the characters had backgrounds from different places. Overall, it took a lot of time and practice to play this role.

Question- How difficult is it to get yourself out after rolling such an intense roll and which was the most beautiful or emotional moment on the set?

answer- The most memorable moment for me was when shot in front of the idol of Kali Maa. At that time, it seemed very special to change the character in a powerful form from the simple girl. On seeing the mother’s eyes, there was a strange feeling and both of us wept emotional.

Question- Your Hindi viewers who have seen you in web series Jubilee, Khaki- Bengal Chapter and film owner, they want to see you more. What would you like to tell them?

answer- I will always try to play a good character. Just keep getting the right role to me, so that I can do them with honesty.

Question- What difference does you see in both industry?

answer- I do not like any big difference. In the Bengali industry, I have done more than 40 years of work, so it is like a family. In Mumbai too, when I work with new people, new generations, there is equal love and belongingness there. Jubilee has been above five years, but even today our team remains connected. Because of this I always feel a special atmosphere and connection.

Question- How are you making your love and famous from children to big for so many years, how do you keep yourself so relative?

answer- See, this power is not my own, whenever I go to public show or event, my age is reduced by people’s energy. I live very comfortable, do not like the run. I just relax, enjoy work. I do yoga and eat the right food. This is the secret of my happiness and health.
