Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) is protesting outside the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi against the murder of a Hindu youth in Bangladesh. VHP workers have been demanding justice for the victim’s family since 11 am.
Hindu youth Dipu Chandra was murdered on the night of 18 December in Bangladesh. Earlier it was being claimed that Deepu had made comments on Facebook that hurt religious sentiments, but no evidence of this was found in the initial investigation.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Foreign Ministry has summoned Indian High Commissioner Prannoy Verma. This is the second time in a week that the Indian High Commissioner has been called. Relations between the two countries have deteriorated significantly due to anti-India protests after the death of Bangladeshi student leader Sharif Usman Hadi and then the mob lynching of Dipu in Maiman Singh district.
Bangladesh expressed concern over attacks on diplomatic missions
Bangladesh on Tuesday expressed deep concern over the attacks on its diplomatic missions in India.
