Kajol further wrote along with a picture of a poster related to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge posted in a station in Switzerland – “Look how far it has really reached.”

Shahrukh Khan said, “It doesn’t seem like it’s been 30 years since Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was released. It feels like it happened just yesterday because ‘such small things keep happening in big countries’. But it’s still hard to believe. I’m deeply grateful to the people all over the world who loved ‘Raaz’ so much. No one had even imagined that this film would reach so deeply in people’s hearts. I can never forget that moment when people started loving the film. They started coming to see and falling in love.”

He further said, “The impact that this film has had on people’s hearts is unmatched. Even today, many couples meet me and say that they got married or fell in love after watching DDLJ. This film left a happy mark in the pop culture of India and South Asian culture.”

Shah Rukh continued, “All the credit for the success of this film goes to Aditya (Chopra), who had the amazing clarity of DDLJ, and also to Yash ji’s blessings. We all made this film with so much love and sincerity. May we keep falling in love for years to come.”

Kajol, who played the role of ‘Simran’ in the film, said, “DDLJ completing 30 years feels like a dream. The film has now become a legacy, a piece of nostalgia for an entire generation. The film was born out of that carefree youth and the truth of first love. We never thought that Raj and Simran’s train station scene would bring the entire nation to a halt. Its songs, dialogues and mustard fields are pop stars.” Became part of the culture.”

Kajol further said, “A part of DDLJ is present in every romantic film that was made after that. For me, ‘Simran’ is still alive, she is a symbol of millions of Indian girls who obey their parents, but also have a desire for freedom in their heart. That is why she touches everyone even today. When someone says ‘Ja Simran, Ja’, it is not just a dialogue, it becomes a symbol of courage and love.”

He said, “The audience who fell in love with this film at the age of 16, are watching it today with their children. Perhaps this is the beauty of DDLJ, it forces every generation to look within itself. When a film stays in the hearts of people for 30 years, it is not just a story, but becomes the definition of thinking and love of an entire generation.”

DDLJ made the pairing of Shahrukh and Kajol one of the most iconic on-screen couples of Indian cinema. To this, Kajol said, “I will always be grateful for the love I have received for DDLJ. The film has now become a cultural milestone, making the audience believe that true love always wins. When a film becomes an event, it is no longer just a story, it becomes an emotion.”

Kajol further said, “Aditya Chopra’s vision was the real strength of this film. The balance between family, tradition and modernity and the courage to listen to the heart, these themes never get old.”

Talking about Shah Rukh-Kajol’s chemistry in the film, Kajol said, “Working with Shah Rukh has always been effortless. There is an understanding and trust between us that works without any words being spoken. It all feels so natural in front of the camera that it becomes not an act but a true connection. That’s why the audience feels that magic.”
