The release date of Salman Khan’s film ‘Mathrubhoomi’ has been postponed and due to some changes in the script, the film has been postponed. Such a claim has been made in a report by India Today. The sudden demise of actor-singer Prashant Tamang has also been cited as a major reason for the delay. However, till now the makers have not officially made any change in the release date of the film. Let us tell you that the release of the film was fixed on 17th April. The report quoted a source related to the film as saying that Indian Idol 3 winner and actor Prashant Tamang was signed for the role of the main villain and he had also completed the shooting of many important scenes. However, before his demise in January this year, some important scenes were still to be shot. The source said, ‘The team had some schedules in which Prashant had to shoot very important scenes. After his departure the team is in deep trouble. Although the makers had initially thought of reshooting his scenes, it does not seem possible at the moment. The source said, ‘Close-up shots are manageable, but he was also a part of a big action sequence. This will not only be difficult financially but will also be difficult logistically. Salman’s dates are also not available. Apart from this, the source said that Salman Khan’s dates are not available and the continuity of his look is also adding to the problems, due to which the situation is becoming more challenging for the team. At one point, the team was considering either casting another actor for the role or adding Prashant’s face to the rest of the scene using AI and VFX. However, for this, the approval of his family will be necessary. The source further said, ‘A decision will be taken by the end of this month as it is necessary to complete the film and start post-production. The release date has not been decided yet, but considering the subject, it can be released on Independence Day. Let us tell you that earlier the name of this film was ‘Battle of Galwan’, which has now been changed to ‘Mathrubhoomi: May War Rest in Peace’. This change has been made to reflect the deep emotions of the film’s story and the message of humanity amidst war. The film has been produced by Salma Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films, while Apoorva Lakhia is its director.
