Difficulties are increasing continuously regarding the release of Vijay Thalapathy’s last film ‘Jana Nayakan’. The Division Bench of Madras High Court has put a temporary stay on the order of the single judge, in which the film was ordered to be given a U/A certificate.
Actually, the second hearing of the case related to the film of 9 January was held in Madras High Court. In the first hearing, the single judge bench of the court had directed CBFC to issue the U/A certificate at 10:30 am itself.
But this decision of the High Court was challenged by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and demanded to form a revising committee to re-examine the film.
The Censor Board filed a writ petition against this decision, after which the Chief Justice bench of Madras High Court put a stay on the release and fixed the next hearing for January 21.

Bobby Deol is playing the role of the main villain in Vijay’s film Jan Nayakan.
The bench remarked during the hearing that CBFC should have been given proper time to oppose the release of the film. The division bench of Chief Justice Manindra Mohan Srivastava and Justice G Arul Murugan also raised questions on fixing the release date even before getting the certificate from the filmmakers.
The bench told the makers- ‘If you do not have the certificate then how can you release the film? You cannot fix the release date nor put pressure on the system.
Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, representing KVN Productions in the plea, argued that despite the film being reviewed by the certification panel, only one member of the board had filed the complaint. He reminded the court that ‘Jana Nayakan’ was planned to be released on January 9.

Let us tell you that before this, Thalapathy Vijay’s film Jan Nayakan was scheduled to be released on January 9 but the release was postponed. The film’s production house KVN Productions issued a statement saying, “It is with a heavy heart that we have to share this information. The film Jan Nayakan, which was scheduled to release on January 9, has been postponed due to some reasons which were beyond our control.”
