The number of people traveling by air in the country is constantly increasing. In July, 1.29 crore people traveled by air. This is 7.3% more than a year ago. At the same time, the total flight cancellation rate this month was 1.90%.
This is the highest in the last six months. Earlier in January this year, the cancellation rate was 3.67%. In July, IndiaOne Air had the highest cancellation rate of 18% and Fly Big had 17%. In this case, IndiGo’s cancellation rate was 2.25% and Air India’s was 0.47%.
In July, 28% of the total cancellations were due to weather and 17.2% due to technical issues. In January this year, 82% of the total cancellations were due to weather.
Indigo’s market share increased by 1.2%
The market share of India’s largest airline IndiGo has increased by 1.2% to 62% in July as compared to June. Air India’s market share has decreased by 0.3% to 14.3%, which was 14.6% in June a month ago. Whereas, Vistara’s market share has seen an increase of 0.3%.
