Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Naveen has made a scathing attack on Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s ‘snake’ statement. He said Kharge’s remarks were an attempt to instigate people on communal lines and showed a cheap mentality. This statement came at a time when Kharge had compared BJP and RSS to poisonous snakes in a rally.

Nitin Naveen said while talking to news agency ANI that it has been an old tradition of Congress that it uses such words which have a negative impact on the society. He said that every time after such statements the public blesses BJP for victory.

He held the Gandhi family responsible for Kharge’s statement. Said- Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi run the party with remote control and Kharge speaks under the same.

Kharge had said in a rally in Assam that if a poisonous snake comes in front, then even the prayers should be stopped and it should be killed. Using this example, he described BJP and RSS as “poisonous snakes”. After this statement, Assam BJP leaders have filed a police complaint against Kharge and accused Congress of doing appeasement politics for Muslim votes.

Meanwhile, Nitin Naveen also criticized Kharge’s statement in which he compared the people of Kerala and Gujarat. Kharge had said that the people of Kerala are educated and intelligent, they cannot be misled, whereas the people of states like Gujarat can be misled.

On this, Nitin Naveen said that Gujarat is the land of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel and today Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking the country forward. He said that after the defeat, Congress sometimes blames EVMs and sometimes the public, but does not learn anything from itself.

At the same time, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad also reacted strongly to Kharge’s statement. He said that it is shameful for the president of a national party to call the people of a state uneducated. He demanded Kharge to apologize to the country.

Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the literacy rate of Gujarat is 82 percent and it has improved during the tenure of Prime Minister Modi. He questioned whether Kharge would say anything just because of his hatred for Modi.

Furthermore, he accused Kharge of creating communal tension. According to him, such statements incite religious sentiments and the public does not like such statements.
