Putin said that America is creating a situation like the missile crisis during the Cold War.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned the US. He said that if the US deploys long-range missiles in Germany, then in response Russia will also deploy deadly missiles that come within the range of Western countries.

According to a Reuters report, earlier this month, the US said that NATO would start deploying long-range missiles in Germany from 2026 to protect its allies. Apart from the SM-6, Tomahawk cruise missile, it will also include hypersonic missiles.

In response to this, Putin said that America is creating a situation like the missile crisis during the Cold War. In 1962, Russia had deployed missiles in Cuba. This place was just 150 km away from America. Because of this, Russia and America came on the verge of nuclear war.

Putin said the US was further increasing tensions by providing Typhoon missile technology to Denmark and the Philippines.

Putin said- Russia will start developing short range missiles
In his speech on the occasion of Russia’s Navy Day on Sunday, Putin said that if NATO takes such a step, it will take only 10 minutes for a missile to reach Russia from Germany. He further said that the US is further increasing tensions by talking about deploying missiles in Germany and giving Typhoon missile systems to Denmark and the Philippines.

Putin compared the US move to the deployment of Pershing-2 missile launchers in West Europe in 1979. According to the then Soviet Union Secretary General Yuri Andropov, by deploying Pershing missiles, the US wanted to eliminate the political and military leadership of the Soviet Union.

Putin again said that Cold War-like conditions are being created again. To respond to this, Russia will start producing intermediate and short range missiles equipped with nuclear technology and will then consider where to deploy them.

According to a Politico report, the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Agreement was signed between the US and the Soviet Union in 1987. Under this, both countries agreed not to develop nuclear missiles with a range of more than 500 km.

After 32 years, America withdrew from this agreement in 2019. America alleged that Russia was breaking the agreement by developing 9M729 missile. After this, the then US Defense Secretary Mark Esper had said that they would also build long-range weapons in response to the Russian missile.

Navy Day is celebrated every year in Russia on the last Sunday of July.

India participated in Russia’s Navy Day parade, Putin took the salute
On Sunday, Indian naval personnel took part in Russia’s 328th Navy Day parade. On this occasion, Russian President Vladimir Putin took salute from Indian naval personnel. On behalf of India, warship INS Tabar participated in the Navy Day parade.

While taking the salute of the parade, Putin greeted the Indian Navy personnel and congratulated them for participating in the Navy Day parade. The warship INS Tabar was commanded by Captain M.R. Harish. Along with him, a crew of 280 members was also present on the warship.

More than 200 ships took part in the parade. Nearly 200 ships took part in the 328th Navy Day being celebrated in St. Petersburg. All of them will be part of the Navy till 2024. During this time more than 15 thousand soldiers were also present. After the end of the parade, music concerts, army bands and fireworks will be organized at St. Petersburg and Russian Naval Base.
