Why summer – less rainfall in February, anti cyclonic circulation formed
According to meteorologists, there are many reasons behind the unusual heat. There were less western disturbances in North and Central India in February. Due to this the clouds and rain reduced. Due to the sun’s heat reaching the ground directly, the surface is heating up rapidly. Anti-cyclonic circulation has formed over West and Central India. In this, the air gets pressed down, due to which less clouds are formed and hot winds remain. These conditions are favorable for increasing the temperature.
When is it considered a heatwave?
According to the Meteorological Department, a heatwave is considered when the temperature in the plains reaches 40 degrees or more. If the temperature is recorded 4 to 6 degrees more than the normal temperature. In such a situation, people’s health can also be affected and the risk of heat stroke increases.
El Nino possible in June, heat will increase, monsoon may also worsen
La Nina is weakening. The next 3 months are likely to be Enso neutral, i.e. neither La Nina nor El Nino. According to American weather agency Noah, El Nino may hit in early June. During this time monsoon arrives in the country. El Nino will not only spoil the monsoon but will also prolong the summer season. In La Nina, there is normal or more than normal rainfall. The temperature remains below normal. In El Nino the mercury rises and rainfall decreases.
