Union Home Minister Amit Shah can hold a meeting in Delhi on Thursday regarding the security arrangements of Jammu and Kashmir. This will be the first meeting after the assembly elections held in September-October.
It will include Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, senior officers of the Army, paramilitary forces, Jammu and Kashmir administration, intelligence agencies and Home Ministry.
Sources of news agency PTI said that the Home Minister will be informed about the current situation in the Union Territory in the meeting.
Earlier on June 16 also, Shah had held a high level meeting. In this he had instructed the officials to crush terrorism and also take strict action against those who help the terrorists.
Actually, terrorist incidents are still continuing in Jammu and Kashmir. On October 20, seven people were killed in a terrorist attack in Kashmir.
According to official figures, 142 terrorists were killed in Jammu and Kashmir in 2019, while the number is around 45 so far this year. In 2019, 50 civilians had died in the Union Territory, while the number came down to 14 by the first week of November this year.

June 13, first meeting: Prime Minister Modi had called after the terrorist attacks.

In the meeting, PM Modi was informed about the action to be taken against terrorists.
PM Modi also held a meeting on June 13 regarding the terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. Many officials of security agencies including NSA Ajit Doval also participated in it. The PM had also talked to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the deployment of security forces.
June 14, second meeting: Amit Shah directed to call a high level meeting On June 14 also, Shah had held a meeting regarding security arrangements. In fact, on June 9, when the Modi cabinet was taking oath, terrorists opened fire on a bus of devotees in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir. The driver was shot and the bus fell into a ditch. 9 devotees had died in this. 41 people were injured. All the devotees were going from Shiv Khodi to Katra (Vaishno Devi).
Apart from this, terrorists had carried out continuous attacks at 3 places in Kathua and Doda. An SPO and a CRPF jawan were also martyred in this. In the encounter, two terrorists were killed by the security forces. A large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the terrorists.
June 15, third meeting: LG Sinha said – sanctuaries of terrorists should not be spared.

In the meeting, LG asked for an action report from the police as to what steps they have taken to eliminate the drug problem.
Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha also held a high level review meeting on Saturday. In this he directed the officials that the security agencies should work together to root out the terrorist eco system in the valley. Those who are helping and harboring terrorism and the terrorist eco system should not be spared.
Chief Secretary Atal Dullu, Principal Secretary Home Department Chandrakar Bharti, ADGP Law and Order Vijay Kumar, ADGP CID Nitish Kumar and other senior officials of police and administration were present in the meeting. In the meeting, the preparations of the district and police administration before Amarnath Yatra, Yoga Day and Eid-al-Azha were also discussed.
June 16, fourth meeting: Crush terrorism, do not spare even the helpers.

Apart from Home Minister Amit Shah and LG of Jammu and Kashmir, officers of security agencies were present in the meeting held in the Home Ministry.
Home Minister Amit Shah had directed the officials to crush terrorism and also take strict action against those helping terrorists. Security arrangements should be further increased at all pilgrimage sites and tourist places in Jammu and Kashmir.
Shah had directed the agencies to replicate the successes achieved in Kashmir Valley through Area Domination Plan and Zero Terror Plan in Jammu division as well.
Four target killings took place since April
20 October: On the night of 20 October, terrorists attacked non-local people in Gagangir area of Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. 7 people including a doctor lost their lives in the attack. Regarding the attack, Home Minister Amit Shah had said that those involved in this despicable attack will not be spared.

22 April: Terrorists had opened fire on a house in Rajouri. 40 year old Mohammad Razzaq had died in this. He was a resident of Kunda Tope Shahdara Sharif. This was the third incident of target killing in April.
Razzaq’s brothers are soldiers in the army. 19 years ago, terrorists had killed Razzaq’s father Mohammad Akbar in this same village. He used to work in the Welfare Department. Razzaq got the job in place of his father.

8 April: Non-Kashmiri local driver Paramjit Singh was shot by terrorists in Padpawan of Shopian district of South Kashmir. He was a resident of Delhi. The terrorists had attacked Paramjeet when he was on his duty. After carrying out the incident the terrorists fled from the spot.
17 April: The terrorists had shot dead Shankar Shah, a migrant from Bihar. The attackers shot him in the stomach and neck.

Two people from Punjab were murdered in February

On February 7, terrorists shot dead two youths from Amritsar.
In Srinagar, on 7 February 2024, terrorists shot two people of Sikh community with AK-47 rifle in Habba Kadal area. The deceased were identified as Amrit Pal (31) and Rohit Masih (25), residents of Amritsar. Amrit Pal died on the spot. Rohit died during treatment.
Other incidents of target killing in the last 2 years 26 February 2023: Terrorists had killed a Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma in Pulwama. He used to work as a guard in his village. He was returning from duty in the morning. Then the terrorists opened fire on them.
29 May 2023: A civilian was shot dead by terrorists in Anantnag. The deceased was identified as Deepak Kumar. Deepak was a resident of Udhampur, Jammu and worked in the circus fair in Janglat Mandi, Anantnag.
15 October 2022: Terrorists had fired on Puran Krishna Bhatt in Chaudharygund village of Shopian. Seriously injured Puran was admitted to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
August 2022: In Shopian, terrorists had shot three migrant laborers hailing from Bihar. Apart from this, a Kashmiri Pandit was murdered in an apple orchard. A migrant from Bihar was shot dead by terrorists in Bandipora.
November 2022: In Shopian, terrorists had killed two laborers hailing from Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh. Terrorists had thrown a grenade in Harmen of Shopian, in which two laborers named Monish Kumar and Ram Sagar were injured.
