चीन से 75% विवाद खत्म होने पर जयशंकर की सफाई: कहा- मेरा बयान सिर्फ सैनिकों के पीछे हटने पर था, बाकी मुद्दों पर चुनौती बरकरार

Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday clarified his statement that 75% of the dispute with China has been resolved. He said at the Asia Society Policy Institute in New York that he meant only the withdrawal of troops.

The foreign minister said that challenges still remain on other issues with China. Jaishankar said that India’s history with China has been full of difficulties.

Jaishankar said that we had a clear agreement with China on LAC. But they violated the agreement by deploying many soldiers during the Corona epidemic in the year 2020. After this, there was a fear that an accident would happen and it happened. There was a clash and people from both sides suffered casualties.

Jaishankar said that this decision of China affected the relations on both sides. He said that now we are able to resolve most of the issues of retreat at the confrontation points. But some issues related to patrolling need to be resolved. Now the next step will be to reduce the tension.

Jaishankar said that talks are going on between the two sides to find a solution to the problem.

Jaishankar had said- the clash in Galwan affected the relationship Foreign Minister Jaishankar said at a summit in Geneva on September 12 that India is getting success in border talks with China and about 75% of the disputes have been resolved. He said that the face-off between the armies of the two countries on the border is a big issue. If the border dispute is resolved, then it is possible to improve India-China relations.

Jaishankar had said that the clash between China and India in Galwan in 2020 badly affected the relations between the two countries. After the violence on the border, no one can say that the rest of the relations will not be affected by it. Even before this, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has talked about relations with China.

Jaishankar said- China does not accept written agreements Jaishankar had given a statement about China in Japan on 7 March. He had said – There was peace on the border from 1975 to 2020. Everything changed in 2020 (Galwan clash). He had said that when a neighbor violates written agreements, it is a matter of concern. This raises questions on the stability of the relationship between the two. The world is changing, so India’s relations with other countries are also changing. There is no need to be aggressive in this.

China had said- Ladakh is our part China had condemned the Supreme Court’s decision in December 2023 after the removal of Article 370 in Kashmir. China had said that this decision does not make any difference to Beijing. The western part of the India-China border has always belonged to China.

China further said- We have never recognised India’s unilateral and illegal establishment of the Union Territory of Ladakh. The decision of the Indian Supreme Court cannot change the fact that the western part of the border belongs to China.

A meeting was held in Beijing to establish peace on LAC

Earlier, on August 29, the 31st meeting was held between India and China on the border issue in Beijing. Both countries had decided to maintain ground peace in the border area according to bilateral agreements and protocols. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, both sides discussed the situation of the LAC. During this, they also agreed to increase contact through diplomatic and military channels.

What happened in Galwan Valley? On 15 June 2020, China had gathered troops in the border areas of Eastern Ladakh on the pretext of exercise. After this, there were incidents of infiltration at many places.

The Indian government had also deployed an equal number of troops as China in this area. The situation became so bad that bullets were fired on the LAC.

Meanwhile, on June 15, 20 Indian soldiers were martyred in a clash with the Chinese army in the Galwan Valley. Later, India also gave a befitting reply to this. About 60 Chinese soldiers were killed in this.
