After this, there was a fear that an accident would happen and it happened. There was a clash and people from both sides suffered casualties.

Jaishankar said that this decision of China affected the relations on both sides. He said that now we are able to resolve most of the issues of retreat at the confrontation points. But some issues related to patrolling need to be resolved. Now the next step will be to reduce the tension.

There is no need to be aggressive in this.

China had said- Ladakh is our part China had condemned the Supreme Court’s decision in December 2023 after the removal of Article 370 in Kashmir. China had said that this decision does not make any difference to Beijing. The western part of the India-China border has always belonged to China.

China further said- We have never recognised India’s unilateral and illegal establishment of the Union Territory of Ladakh. The decision of the Indian Supreme Court cannot change the fact that the western part of the border belongs to China.

A meeting was held in Beijing to establish peace on LAC

Earlier, on August 29, the 31st meeting was held between India and China on the border issue in Beijing. Both countries had decided to maintain ground peace in the border area according to bilateral agreements and protocols. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, both sides discussed the situation of the LAC. During this, they also agreed to increase contact through diplomatic and military channels.

What happened in Galwan Valley? On 15 June 2020, China had gathered troops in the border areas of Eastern Ladakh on the pretext of exercise. After this, there were incidents of infiltration at many places.

The Indian government had also deployed an equal number of troops as China in this area. The situation became so bad that bullets were fired on the LAC.

Meanwhile, on June 15, 20 Indian soldiers were martyred in a clash with the Chinese army in the Galwan Valley. Later, India also gave a befitting reply to this. About 60 Chinese soldiers were killed in this.
