Where earlier it used to take 4 hours to bring the organ from Himachal, now it will take only one hour. It will also be used to bring organs from Delhi.

Drone trial was conducted in Chandigarh PGI on Thursday, which was successful.

There will be no need for green corridor The green corridor which PGI used to build earlier to bring the organ, will no longer need to be built. This drone has been used so far in Rishikesh AIIMS. Now if organs have to be brought from nearby states, they will come only through drones. It will mostly be used to bring organs from AIIMS in Bilaspur, Himachal.

It will take only 1 hour to bring the organ from Bilaspur. According to Dr. Beaman Saikia of Telemedicine Department of PGI, currently it takes about 4 hours to bring an organ from Bilaspur in an ambulance, but it will take only one hour by drone.

Will be able to bring organs from Delhi also He told that with this drone we will be able to bring organs from Delhi also. A stoppage will be made midway to bring the organ from Delhi. Where the drone’s battery will be changed. After this it will be flown again.

Dr. Beeman said that it will also be used to bring organs from hospitals around Chandigarh. Currently, it takes 40 to 50 minutes to bring organs from big hospitals Fortis and Max hospitals, but through drone it will take only a few minutes. He told that liver, heart and kidney are more required. Drones will save a lot of time.
