A kidnapping incident that took place on Friday in Greater Kailash, a very posh area of Delhi, shook the police system. An 11th class student was kidnapped at gunpoint by four teenagers. This incident happened after a minor fight inside the school, which turned into a dangerous conspiracy within a few hours. The police recovered the victim and arrested four accused.
According to the police, this incident occurred on the afternoon of October 24. The victim student studies in a private school located in Greater Kailash and is a resident of CR Park area. There was an altercation between two groups of students in the school, which soon turned into a fight. The station in-charge took the matter seriously when the student’s father himself reached the police station. He told that his son has been threatened with death.
The victim student told the police in his statement, “There was a fight in the school between my classmate and another student. After this, the elder brother of one of them called me and threatened me. He said that he has already committed murder. He will kill me after coming back from school.” The police immediately increased vigilance. The next day at around 2 pm when school was over, the student came out.
He saw three cars parked near the gate. One was black in color and had a number plate, while the other two did not have number plates. Suddenly some people got down from the vehicles. They caught hold of his collar, placed a pistol on his waist and forced him into the Scorpio. After this they started going to Noida with him. One of them said that no one would even find the body of the student.
Meanwhile, the SHO along with his team blocked the area. The police chased the suspected Scorpio and stopped the vehicle a few kilometers away. The student was rescued safely and four minors were detained from the spot. A country-made pistol and 20 live cartridges have been recovered from them. While the people in the remaining two cars fled from the spot.
A police officer said, “All four accused are minors.” He was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, from where the police got two days’ remand. The search for the remaining absconding accused is going on. The police is also investigating how the minors got hold of the weapons and whether any adult mastermind was also involved in this kidnapping conspiracy. At present the victim student is safe.
