In Lucknow, the Transport Department has taken strict action against Indian cricketer Akash Deep Singh and Car dealership Messrship Sunny Motors in Chinhat. The department has issued a show cause notice to the dealership under Rule 44 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989. It is alleged that the dealership delivered a new Toyota Fortuner (buyer – Akash Deep) without completing the registration process and without putting a high security number plate (HSRP) and third registration mark.

Initial investigation revealed

Art Lucknow According to the investigation and vehicle portal records, the sale bill of the vehicle was released on 7 August 2025, the insurance was done on 8 August 2025, but the road tax has not been paid yet and the registration process is incomplete. Despite this, the vehicle was found running on public roads.

Warning and suspension to dealership

Messrs Sunny Motors (Trade Certificate Number: UP32TC0664A -e) has been given time to give legally correct explanation in 14 days. Due to this, action will be taken to cancel their trade certificate. The department has temporarily suspended the dealership license for a month.

Vehicle owner ban

Akashdeep Singh has been sent a notice notice under Section 39, 41 (6) and 207 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988. They have been instructed not to run the vehicle on the road until registration, HSRP and third registration mark and the valid insurance is completed. In case of violation, the vehicle will be seized and legal action will be taken.

Department’s strict remarks

The department says that if famous celebrities break the rules, then it gives wrong messages in the society and weakens the culture of law. Therefore, no one will be considered above the law. The Transport Department has appealed to the vehicle owners and dealers not to complete the registration and HSRP before delivery of the vehicle and do not take the vehicle on the road only on the basis of invoice and insurance.

At the same time, under strict action, Lucknow Transport Department has canceled permits of 8 thousand 322 vehicles. 738 permits have been suspended for 45 days and notices have been issued to 1 thousand 200 permit holders, whose validity has ended more than seven years ago.
