The polygraph test of Sanjay Roy, the main accused in the Kolkata rape-murder case, will be conducted on Saturday (August 25). The polygraph test of 6 accused was conducted on Saturday, August 24. The main accused Sanjay Roy was questioned in jail, while former principal Sandip Ghosh, 4 fellow doctors, 1 volunteer were questioned in the CBI office. Here, after the order of the Calcutta High Court, the CBI has filed an FIR against the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Sandeep Ghosh. Corruption investigation is going on against Ghosh. The CBI has handed over the copy of the FIR to the Alipore CJM Court.

On 9 August, a trainee doctor was raped and murdered in Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital. Her half-naked body was found in the morning. After this, doctors protested across the country. Kolkata doctors are on strike for the 16th consecutive day today. The rest of the organizations have called off the strike.

Following the Supreme Court’s directive, CISF has been deployed for security at RG Kar Medical College. CISF said that they have received instructions to assist the Kolkata Police.

Resident doctors met the CBI team and said they were not satisfied with the investigation
A team of resident doctors met the Central Bureau of Investigation officials on Friday (August 24). On Saturday, a doctor said that they are not satisfied with the CBI investigation and its answers. Dr. Kinjal said that we asked for a deadline to trace all the accused, but they said that it is not possible. We did not get any satisfactory answer from there either. Our only demand is justice. The court has asked the CBI to submit the investigation report of the rape-murder case by September 17.

The victim’s family said- the police misled us
The victim’s family said on Friday- We have faith in the CBI investigation. The police tried to mislead us. The state administration is trying to save someone. One person cannot commit such a serious crime.

In an interview to the agency, the father said- 14 days have passed since the incident. People have faith in CBI. We also have faith, but CBI has not solved the case yet. The team needs to work faster. Every passing day seems like a year to us.

The victim’s father also talked about joining the doctors’ protest. He said that no decision has been taken yet on approaching the Supreme Court regarding the irregularities going on in RG Kar Hospital. If needed, we will consider it.

The victim’s mother said- Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal did not conduct the investigation properly. He was in a hurry. We hope that the racket running in the medical college will be exposed and action will be taken.

During the hearing in the Supreme Court on August 22, the doctors on strike at RG Kar Medical College watched the live streaming.

CBI said- The latch of the seminar hall was broken CBI said that the latch of the hospital’s seminar hall door was broken for a few days. Everyone knew this. That is why when the doctor went there between 2 and 3 in the night, she could not close it. A duty doctor had also seen her sleeping.

The CBI is now investigating how the crime was carried out without any hindrance? Was someone monitoring the hall from outside? The CBI is also investigating why no screams or noises could be heard from the seminar hall.

BJP protests, Adhir’s advice to Sibal
BJP workers gheraoed the Nandigram police station in West Bengal’s East Medinipur district on August 23. BJP supporters also gheraoed Chinsura, Siuri, Midnapore and Bankura police stations. Meanwhile, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has advised Kapil Sibal to step down from the trainee doctor rape murder case.

Adhir said, ‘I would request him to recuse himself from the case. It would be better if he does not support criminals because he was once an elected public representative. He is still a Rajya Sabha MP. In view of all these things, you should recuse yourself from the case, this is my request to you.’
