Following the complaint of fraud received against actor Kunal Khemu and his father Ravi Khemu, a Mumbai court has sought response from Amboli Police. The actor and his father are accused of taking a signing amount from a producer for working in a film, however later he refused to work together and started demanding more money.

First Class Judicial Magistrate Sujit Kumar C. Tayde, after receiving the complaint on December 29, sought a response from the police officers concerned under Section 175 (3) of the Indian Civil Defense Code. In the order he said that Amboli police station in-charge will have to answer in this matter.

In fact, in 2024, film producer Ravi Durga Prasad Aggarwal had filed a complaint against actor Kunal Khemu and his father Ravi Khemu through advocate Vedika Chaubey. Producer Ravi Durgaprasad was making a Hindi film named Overtake, in which he had approached Kunal Khemu to play the lead role.

Kunal had heard the story of the film and after liking the script, he agreed to do the film. After the conversation, the producer gave Rs 21 lakh to Kunal Khemu as signing amount. After this, instead of starting the film, Kunal and his father started asking for more money, due to which the film could not be made further and the producer suffered huge losses.

Complaint was lodged earlier also

Before the complaint filed in 2024, the producer had also filed a petition in the court against Kunal and his father in 2014, although this case was dismissed in 2017. He filed a fresh complaint in 2024, demanding return of the money. When this agreement could not be reached, they decided to initiate legal action against the actor and his father.
