Calcutta High Court will hear the IPAC Raid case today. On January 8, ED raided the office of IT head Prateek Jain of political consultant firm IPAC in Kolkata, West Bengal. Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee had also reached the same place during the raid.

ED had accused Mamata of creating obstacles during the raid in a money laundering case related to alleged coal smuggling. She forcibly entered Prateek Jain’s house and took away many physical documents and electronic devices with her.

After this, on January 9, ED had approached the Calcutta High Court to intervene in the case. The hearing could not be held on January 9 due to the uproar in the courtroom. After this, the High Court had postponed the hearing of the case to January 14.

After this, the Bengal government also filed a caveat in the Supreme Court on January 10. The government demanded that no order should be passed without hearing his side.

January 8: ED raid on the premises of TMC IT head

On January 8, the ED team had raided Prateek Jain’s house at Gulaudan Street in Kolkata and the other team had raided the office at Salt Lake. It is Prateek Jain who prepares the political strategy for Mamata Banerjee.

The action started at 6 am, but the matter escalated after around 11:30 am. First of all, Kolkata Police Commissioner reached Prateek’s residence. After some time, CM Mamata Banerjee herself reached his house on Loudon Street.

Mamta stayed there for some time. When she came out, she saw a green file in her hand. After this she also went to I-PAC office. He said- Home Minister is getting the documents of my party collected. ED said that raids were conducted at 6 locations in West Bengal and 4 locations in Delhi.

9 January: Mamata Banerjee took out a march in Kolkata

On January 9, TMC workers protested from Delhi to Kolkata. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also lodged two FIRs against ED. They also took out a march in Kolkata.

During this, Mamata Banerjee claimed that she had pen drives against Home Minister Amit Shah. He said- Coal scam money reaches senior BJP leaders in Delhi. I have proof of this. If needed, I can present them to the public.
