The report says that India-Canada tension has given rise to hacking incidents. Such incidents have increased after India was accused of being involved in the murder of a Canadian citizen. A pro-India hacking group has claimed to have damaged Canadian websites. A website of the Canadian Armed Forces was also affected by this.
Khalistani terrorist Nijjar was the reason for tension between India and Canada, he was murdered last year. On the evening of June 18, 2023, Nijjar was shot dead while leaving a Gurudwara in Surrey city of Canada. On September 18 last year, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau had accused the Indian government of involvement in Nijjar’s murder, which India rejected.
After this, on May 3, three accused of Nijjar’s murder were arrested. All three accused are Indians. Canadian police said that the police had been keeping an eye on them for several months. They believe that India had assigned them the task of killing Nijjar. Then India had said on this matter that it is an internal matter of Canada.
Hardeep Singh Nijjar was murdered on 18 June 2023. In September, the Canadian PM had accused India of this murder.
