No evidence of India’s involvement in the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar has been found. This has been said by the Mary Josi Hog Commission formed by the Government of Canada on foreign intervention.

The Hog Commission report claimed that India spread misinformation about the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. However, it was also made clear that there is no concrete link to prove the relationship of Indian agencies in Nijjar’s murder.

In this report, India, Russia, China and Pakistan have been held responsible for intervening in the internal matters of Canada. It said that India has quietly helped the candidates of three political parties in the election with money. Proxy agents have been used for this.

However, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has completely rejected India’s intervention related things. Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said-

Why was the Hog Commission formed?

In September 2023, the Canadian Intelligence Agency claimed in a report that China intervened in 2 elections held in 2019 and 2021 in Canada. It claimed that China has helped Justin Trudeau to win the election. Although China denied this, there was a lot of uproar in Canadian politics.

After this, under pressure from opposition leaders, PM Trudeau formed the Hog Commission in September 2023 to investigate the case. This commission was led by Justice Mary-Josie. It is formed so that the situation can be clear about the intervention of foreign forces in the Canadian elections. The Commission has submitted its report on Tuesday (January 28).

PM Trudeau imposed Nijjar’s murder on India Blame Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged in the country’s Parliament in November 2023 that Hardeep Singh Nijjar was involved in the murder of Nijjar and many people including Indian diplomat. Trudeau had said that he also had evidence related to it.

Hardeep Singh Nijjar was killed on 18 June 2023. In September, Canadian PM accused India of murder.

After the allegations of the Canadian Prime Minister, diplomatic tension between India and Canada increased. India accused Trudeau and his party of doing vote bank politics to woo Khalistanis.

Taking action in the case, the Trudeau government of Canada expelled a senior diplomat in India from the country. After this, the dispute between the two countries increased. However, later Trudeau had talked about maintaining relations with India several times.

India took out 41 diplomats of Canada Following Canada’s allegations, India suspended visa services for the people there. 41 Canadian diplomats were also removed. However, the diplomatic level negotiations later took place and a few months later visa services were restored.

Canada had said that he would give evidence of India involvement in this murder, which he has not yet given. Foreign Minister S. Nijjar was killed while leaving the gurudwara On the evening of 18 June 2023, Nijjar was shot dead while leaving a gurdwara in Surrey city. Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau accused the Indian government of involvement in Nijjar’s murder, which was rejected by India.

After this, there was a lot of conflict in the mutual relationship between the two countries. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar had alleged that Canada gives visas to those who are wanted in India. He had said, “People associated with organized crimes in Punjab are welcomed in Canada.”

At the same time, the Canadian Parliament paid tribute to Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on the completion of one year of murder. For this, one minute silence was kept in Parliament.
