Chautala used to write a diary in Urdu every day. Many such diaries have been kept by him. Whether he was in the government or in the opposition, he did not forget to write down every day’s events. He had expressed his desire that a book should be published in the name of his autobiography. The diaries written in Urdu have been translated into Hindi.
Apart from this, work on his second book “Meri Videsh Yatra” is also going on. Omprakash Chautala has traveled to about 119 countries.
