Lyricist Prasoon Joshi offered floral tributes at the statue of Kishore Kumar.
Famous lyricist, screenwriter and poet Prasun Joshi is in Khandwa. He will be honored with the National Kishore Kumar Award tonight at 8:30 pm. Before this, Joshi reached Omkareshwar from Indore and had darshan of Jyotirlinga.

After this, at 6 pm he reached the tomb of Kishore Kumar, where he offered floral tributes. During this, his favorite dish Doodh-Jalebi was offered. He also hummed a song in the memory of Kishore Da.

I am fortunate to be associated with it. Kishore da was a clean, easygoing and cheerful person. He used to take people to both the worlds of laughter and pain.
I wonder, if Kishore da was singing, how would he be singing? Joshi said that Kishore da believed in sharing. Be it happiness or sorrow, he used to convey it to others. Even today, while writing many songs, I think about how Kishore Da would have been singing. He also said on the songs and music of the present era that today many singers are not able to do justice with words. But this never happened with Kishore da.
When he used to sing fun songs, it felt like there was nothing but fun. When he used to sing painful songs, it seemed that there is only pain in the world. Technology has changed music today, but Kishore Da reminds us that the truth is always retail.
Event going to be held at Police Line Ground The program of felicitation ceremony will start at 8.30 pm at Police Line Ground. The investiture ceremony will be organized in the virtual presence of chief guest Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. After the investiture, a melodious presentation of Kishore Kumar’s songs will be given by Hemant Kumar Musical Group of Mumbai.
Till now 27 celebrities have been honored Since 1997 till now, this honor has been given to many stars associated with the film industry. This year, the Kishore Kumar Award for 2024-25 is being given to lyricist Prasoon Joshi. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will virtually join this program organized by the Madhya Pradesh Culture Department as the chief guest. Minister Vijay Shah, MP Dnyaneshwar Patil will be present in the program.
An amount of Rs 5 lakh and a plaque will be given. Director of Culture Department, NP Namdev said that well-known lyricist Prasun Joshi will be decorated with the National Kishore Kumar Award. Under this, a tax free amount of Rs 5 lakh and a plaque will be given as a mark of respect. This honor is given for excellent work in the field of acting, screenwriting, songwriting and direction.
