A bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela said that the petitioner had failed to prove that a prima facie case is made in his favor. The court also commented that the filmmaker has invested heavily for a lifetime of earnings and if the release of the film is banned, it will create financial imbalance, which will not be in favor of the manufacturer.

However, the court has issued a notice on the main petition filed against the certification order issued by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) and sought a response from the government. During the hearing, senior advocate Maneka Guruswamy on behalf of accused Mohammad Javed argued that the theme of ‘Udaipur Files’ matches the crime in which his client has been accused.

He further said that Javed’s role in the film is shown in the same way as described in the charge sheet and the film can influence his client’s judicial rights. Nevertheless, the court clarified that the release of the film cannot be banned. Now ‘Udaipur files’ will be released in theaters on Friday.
