Today is the 16th day of anti-government protests in Iran. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused the protesters of killing policemen and burning them alive. Araghchi called it a conspiracy by Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad.

So far, 538 people have died in these protests that have been going on for the last two weeks, while more than 10,600 people have been detained. News agency AP quoted the protesters as saying that among the dead were 490 protesters and 48 security personnel.

Whereas Al Jazeera’s report has claimed that 109 security personnel have been killed. Araghchi has also shared the video of the attack on policemen.

Trump said- Iran proposed talks

US President Donald Trump has said that Iran has contacted America and proposed talks.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said his administration was in talks to schedule a meeting with Tehran.

However, he also said that given the situation in Iran, they may have to act first, as the number of deaths is increasing and arrests are continuing.

“Iran wants to talk. I think they’re tired of being beaten by America,” Trump said.

The news of arrest of Indians in Iran is false

Iran has rejected reports of arrests of Indian citizens amid protests in Iran. Iran’s Ambassador to India clearly said that this information circulating on social media is completely wrong.

Ambassador Mohammad Fathali issued a statement on social media platform X saying that the news being spread by some foreign accounts about the situation in Iran is misleading. He clarified that no Indian citizen has been arrested.

Iranians protest in America too, truck rams into crowd

There was an uproar during a demonstration against Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei in Los Angeles, America. A speeding truck passed through the crowd of protesters, causing people to run here and there to save their lives. After this the angry protesters tried to attack the truck driver.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon on Veteran Avenue in the Westwood area, where hundreds of people were marching in support of the ongoing protests in Iran. As soon as the truck passed, many protesters ran behind it and tried to stop the driver.

According to police, the truck was stopped a few blocks further. By then the window and side mirrors of the truck were broken. The protesters were trying to punch the driver and push flag poles inside the truck.

Iran warned America

Amid the demonstrations, Iran has warned America that if it is attacked, it will target American soldiers and Israel.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baghar Ghalibaf said on Sunday that if America attacks, all American military bases, ships and Israelis present in the area will be our targets. The statement was made during a live session of Parliament, where MPs were raising slogans of ‘Death to America’.

Praising Iran’s security agencies, Kalibaf said that they have acted forcefully in the situation. Warned the protesters that those arrested would be dealt with in the strictest manner and would be given severe punishment.

Trump was told a plan to attack Iran

Amid ongoing protests in Iran, US officials briefed President Donald Trump on options for possible military attacks on Iran.

According to a New York Times report, Trump may seriously consider taking military action if the Iranian government takes action against protesters. Officials said that the President has not yet taken the final decision.

Trump wrote on social media on Saturday, ‘Iran is looking towards freedom, which has never happened before. America is ready to help. At the same time, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagr Ghalibaf warned on Sunday that if America or Israel attacked Iran, both would be given a stern reply.

Iranian President Masoud Pazhakian said on Sunday that America and Israel want to spread anarchy and disorder in Iran by inciting riots. He asked Iranians to stay away from rioters and terrorists.

“We will solve people’s problems, but we cannot allow rioters to destroy entire societies,” Pazhakian said. Iran’s state television telecasted an interview with the president on Sunday, in which Pazashkian said these things.

Flag of Iranian Embassy in Britain lowered

There were also demonstrations outside the Iranian Embassy in the British capital London. During this, a protestor removed the flag of the Islamic Republic from the Iranian Embassy and hoisted the flag used before the Islamic Revolution of 1979.

In the video viral on social media, the protestor hoisted the tricolor flag with the symbol of lion and sun. According to eyewitnesses, this flag remained on the embassy for several minutes, after which it was removed.

This flag was used in Iran during the reign of the Shahs. Slogans like ‘Democracy for Iran’ and ‘Free Iran’ were raised during the demonstration.

London Police said that security has been increased after the flag removal incident, to prevent any kind of disorder and to ensure the security of the Iranian Embassy. Police said that 3 people have been arrested in this case, while the search for another suspect is going on.

Demand to hand over power to the Crown Prince

Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini came to power in Iran after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. He was the Supreme Leader for 10 years from 1979 to 1989. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who became the Supreme Leader after him, has been in power for 37 years since 1989.

Resentment among common people increased due to inflation in Iran

GenZ is in anger across the country. The reason for this has been economic crisis. The Iranian currency rial fell to about 1.45 million per US dollar in December 2025, an all-time low.

The value of the rial has almost halved since the beginning of the year. Inflation has reached its peak here. The prices of food items have increased by 72% and the prices of medicines have increased by 50%.

Apart from this, the government’s proposal to increase taxes by 62% in the budget of 2026 has created huge resentment among the common people.
