Aamir Khan remembered veteran actor Dharmendra during the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. Aamir told that in the last one year he had become very close to Dharmendra and he met him about 7-8 times. Once he also took his son Azad along, so that he could know Dharmendra and his nature.

Aamir Khan said, I have grown up watching his (Dharmendra) acting. He was known as an action hero and He-Man. He was extremely skilled at playing strong characters in action films. He played romance, comedy and all other types of characters very well. According to me, Dharam ji was one of the best actors of our country. That’s why I have always respected him.

Aamir further said, really, he was a very attractive person. Today I am not in Mumbai and am regretfully missing his prayer meet. I was very close to him, especially in the last one year. I met him about 7–8 times and I loved being in his company. One day I also took my son Azad along, so that he could meet Dharam ji, because Azad had not yet seen his work properly. Azad came with me and we spent a few hours with him, which was really wonderful.

Aamir further said, Dharam ji was not only a great actor but also a great human being. He had a very gentle nature and he met everyone with great warmth and respect. So he was a wonderful person and a great actor and it’s a huge loss for all of us.

Dharmendra died on 24 November

Let us tell you, before being admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on 10th November, Dharmendra was also admitted on 31st October. Even then he had trouble breathing. However, when he was admitted on November 10, a source close to the family had told Dainik Bhaskar that Dharmendra’s condition was critical and his daughters Ajeta and Vijeta had also been called to India from abroad.

Then Bobby Deol also left the shooting of the film Alpha and reached the hospital. He was discharged on 12 November. After this, he was undergoing treatment at home. But then he died on 24 November.
