Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is on a visit to India, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. During this, the two leaders signed agreements on nuclear energy, oil and food park.
This is the first time that the new generation of the ruling family of UAE has officially established ties with India. The Crown Prince will visit Mumbai tomorrow. Where he will attend a meeting of business leaders of both the countries.
An agreement has been signed between the Gujarat government and an Abu Dhabi company. Under this, many food parks will be built in India. At the same time, an agreement has also been signed with India regarding the operation and maintenance of UAE’s nuclear power plant in Barakah.
India has signed an agreement to increase cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector. Under this, Abu Dhabi will supply LNG to India for a long time.

This was PM Modi’s seventh visit after becoming the Prime Minister in 2014. He first visited UAE as PM in August 2015. He also visited UAE in 2018 and 2019.
In 2019, the UAE government awarded Modi the country’s highest civilian honour ‘Order of Zayed’. Modi visited Dubai in June 2022 and July 2023. During this, President Al Nahyan also tied a friendship band to him.

India exports the most to UAE among the Gulf countries UAE is India’s third largest trading partner. There is a trade of more than 6 lakh crore rupees between the two countries. In this, UAE has imported goods worth 2 lakh crore rupees from India. India has a financial deficit with UAE. That means India imports more from UAE and exports less.
India has imported Rs 4 lakh crore from UAE in the financial year 2022-23. India had also signed a trade pact with UAE. India exports petroleum products, metals, stones, gems and jewellery, minerals, food items like grains, sugar, fruits and vegetables, tea, meat and seafood, textiles, engineering machinery products and chemicals to UAE.

35 lakh Indians live in UAE Around 35 lakh Indians live in UAE. This is 30% of the country’s total population and the number of Indians here is the highest compared to any other country. At the same time, UAE is India’s fourth largest oil supplier after Russia, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
