White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt on Monday lashed out at a Huffington Post reporter, calling him a “leftist hacker” after he asked her about President Donald Trump’s upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.

The debate escalated when SV Dte, a senior political reporter known for his critical coverage of Trump, sent a message to Levitt asking who had chosen the venue for this important summit to be held in Budapest.

Levitt responded with a viral quote, “Your mother chose.”

He later shared a screenshot of his response on social media, writing, “For context, SV DTE of the Huffington Post is not a journalist interested in facts. He is a leftist hacker who has repeatedly attacked President Trump for years and constantly bombards my phone with Democrat talk.”

He added, “Take a look at Det’s feed, it looks like an anti-Trump personal diary. Activists pretending to be real journalists are an insult to the profession.”

When will Trump-Putin meet?

the White House has not confirmed the exact date or location of the already scheduled Trump-Putin summit, but it is likely to be held in Budapest within the next two weeks. Their last meeting in Alaska on August 15 ended without any progress as Putin reportedly rejected Trump’s proposal for an immediate ceasefire.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelensky described their talks as positive and said that after the visit Ukraine is now preparing a contract for 25 Patriot air defense systems. Met Trump in Washington last week.

“After several rounds of discussions lasting more than two hours with Trump and his team, I think their message is positive that we are right where we are on the front lines,” Zelensky said.
