Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has included Saurabh Dubey in the squad for IPL 2026. Dubey, a 28-year-old left-arm fast bowler, will replace Akash Deep. Akash is out of the entire season due to injury. Saurabh Dubey plays domestic cricket for Vidarbha and has previously been a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team, but has not been able to debut in the IPL yet. Former national selector Subroto Banerjee described Dubey as a talented bowler. He said that along with swinging the ball, Dubey also gets extra bounce from the pitch. Banerjee had closely watched Rahul Dravid during his tour of Bangladesh in 2019, when he was in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup squad. Saurabh Dubey remained unsold in the mini auction. He remained unsold in the mini auction held in December last year. His base price was Rs 30 lakh and he was included in the Registered Available Player Pool (RAPP), from which he could be selected as a replacement. Dubey was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2022, but was ruled out due to injury. Decision on Harshit pending: A KKR official told cricket website Cricbuzz that the team has not yet taken a decision on the replacement of Harshit Rana.
