America seized the private jet of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. He was using it for one and a half years.
The US has seized Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s luxury jet. According to news agency AP, US officials allege that this jet was purchased fraudulently and was smuggled out of the US.
Maduro’s luxury jet, a Dassault Falcon 900EX, was seized in the Dominican Republic, a Latin American country located in the Caribbean Sea. US officials took the plane to the US on Monday, according to CNN.

Maduro’s plane was brought to Florida on Monday.
Use of shell company to purchase aircraft
The cost of the plane is $13 million (about Rs 110 crore). US officials said that between late 2022 and early 2023, people associated with Maduro had bought this luxury jet by hiding their identity.
For this, he used a Caribbean shell company. He took the plane illegally in April 2023. Business transactions between the US and the Venezuelan government are banned. According to the report, Maduro’s jet was registered in San Marino. The Venezuelan PM used this plane in several foreign trips.
The private jet was initially registered in the US and owned by SixG Aviation in Florida, a broker that buys and sells used aircraft. According to records, the address given for the purchase of the plane was Saint Vicente and the Grenadines. It was later registered in San Marino and sent to Venezuela.
The US cancelled the registration of the aircraft in January 2023 after the fraud was detected. The aircraft reached the Dominican Republic in March this year.

Venezuelan President Maduro visited Guyana and Cuba this year on this private jet.
Venezuela said- seizing the jet is robbery
The Venezuelan government has admitted to seizing the plane. They have called this move of the US government a robbery. Venezuelan officials said that the US has once again committed a criminal act. They have seized the plane used by the President. The US is forcefully justifying its move.
According to media reports, an American official Matthew Axelrod has justified this move. He said that this incident will send a message. No country can do its work by deceiving America.
The US imposed several sanctions on Venezuela
Relations between Venezuela and the United States have been marred by political differences for decades. Venezuela has taken a tough stance against the US’s capitalist and foreign policies, while the US has imposed sanctions on Venezuela for human rights violations.
Oil reserves were discovered in Venezuela about 100 years ago. Within 20 years of the discovery of oil, Venezuela became one of the largest oil exporting countries in the world. It was called the Saudi Arabia of Latin America.
In the 1950s, Venezuela was the fourth richest country in the world. But today the condition of this country has deteriorated. 75 percent of the country’s population is living below the poverty line. According to BBC, about 75 lakh people have left the country in the last 7 years.
Oil prices began to fall in the 80s. Venezuela was almost completely dependent on oil, so the fall in prices also brought down Venezuela’s economy. Due to government policies, Venezuela began to fail to repay its debt. The condition of this country has worsened further due to US sanctions in 2015.
