Actress and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan recently spoke openly on marriage and relationships. He described the concept of marriage as outdated and jokingly said that maybe his marriage to Amitabh Bachchan could be a big mistake.

In fact, during a conversation with Barkha Dutt at the We The Women event, Jaya told that when she got married, she had not registered herself legally. He said, “We did not even fill the register, later we found out that now it is necessary to sign the register, which means we were living illegally for many years.”

When she was asked in the interview whether Amitabh Bachchan also had the same thoughts about marriage, Jaya smiled and said, “I never asked him. Maybe he would say that this was the biggest mistake of my life, but I don’t want to hear that.”

Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan worked together in films like Zanjeer, Abhiman, Sholay, Silsila and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

Maybe it was love at first sight: Jaya

When she was asked, do you remember the moment when you realized that you loved Amit ji? So Jaya jokingly said, “Do you want to scratch old wounds?”

However, Jaya again smiled and said, “Hey, I have been married to the same man for 52 years. I couldn’t love him more than this.”

It is noteworthy that the marriage of Amitabh and Jaya is one of the most famous couples of Bollywood. The closeness of both of them grew during the shooting of the films Guddi and Ek Nazar. After the film Zanjeer became a hit in 1973, both of them decided to get married. Both of them were married on 3 June 1973. Amitabh and Jaya have two children, Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan.
