Akshay Khanna has been in controversies for the last few days. After his exit from ‘Drishyam-3’, many serious allegations are being made against him. Now the director of his film ‘Section 375’ Manish Gupta has made serious allegations against the actor.
Manish Gupta has shared the story of the year 2017 in a conversation with Bollywood Hungama. He said- ‘Akshay had signed my film, of which I was the director and writer. Kumar Mangat was the producer of that film.
Akshay’s fee was fixed at Rs 2 crore, out of which he was given an advance of Rs 21 lakh. But suddenly he gave our date to the film ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’. He went to London to shoot for that film. My team sat idle for six months.
Manish has directed films like Rahasya, Darna Zaroori Hai, One Friday Night. He has written the screenplay for Sarkar and Section 375.
Akshay came back after the shooting of that film. After coming back, he started demanding Rs 32.5 crore instead of the amount of Rs 2 crore fixed in the contract.
He breached the contract. Apart from this, he also wanted to control the entire film. He wanted to get everything done his way. But I am not a director who bows down to the whims of any actor. I protested against his behaviour.
Manish further said in his allegation – ‘Akshay’s ego was getting hurt in taking orders from me, so he started putting pressure on producer Kumar Mangat to change the director.
But instead of reining in Akshay, Kumar Mangat threw me out of the film. Also confiscated my entire written script and hard drive prepared after three years of hard work on pre-production.
Section 375 was a courtroom drama film.
Manish has said that the actor had threatened to drag him to court and had also sent two legal notices to the film’s producer Kumar Mangat. But the producer compromised with him outside the court.
Let us tell you that ‘Section 375’ was released in the year 2019. Apart from Akshay Khanna, Richa Chadha was also seen in this film.
