A powerful earthquake of 7.4 magnitude occurred in Indonesia on Thursday morning. One person has died and another person has been injured after a building collapsed in Manado city, North Sulawesi province. According to rescue officials, the injured person has suffered leg injuries.
Initially the intensity of the earthquake was reported as 7.8, which was later reduced to 7.4. This shock came at a shallow depth of about 35 kilometers from the ground, due to which its impact was felt more.
A tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake, but it was lifted after about 2 hours.
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), this earthquake occurred in the Northern Molucca Sea in the eastern part of the country at around 7:48 am. Its center was about 127 kilometers northwest of the city of Ternate.
