Ugandan Army Chief and President’s son Muhoozi Kainerugaba has demanded $1 billion (₹9000 crore) from Turkey and the country’s ‘most beautiful woman’ as his wife. He warned that if the demands were not met, diplomatic relations with Turkey would be severed and Turkish Airlines could be banned.

Kainerugaba wrote on X that if Turkey did not solve our problems, relations would be severed in 30 days. He said that either they pay or we will close their embassy.

He advised Ugandans to avoid traveling to Turkey and offered to send 100,000 troops in support of Israel. However, there has been no official response from Turkey on this.

Asked for 1 billion dollars citing Somalia mission

Kainerugaba in the post accused Turkiye of profiting from infrastructure, port and airport projects in Somalia while Uganda bore the burden of fighting terrorist organizations such as al-Shabaab. On this basis he demanded 1 billion dollars.

Recently also Kainrugaba has made many controversial posts on social media. He threatened to behead opposition leader Bobi Wine, which sparked a lot of controversy. However, he later called it a joke and apologized.

Meanwhile, Kainerugaba had deleted the X account a few days ago. Then he announced his comeback by writing ‘I am back’ and said that he will shake the world.

After his return, he ordered the security agencies to immediately arrest anyone seen in military uniform. They threatened to arrest an American diplomat if he did not salute them.

Muhoozi Kainerugaba has been in the Ugandan Army since 1999. He is considered his father's successor in politics.

Muhoozi Kainerugaba has been in the Ugandan Army since 1999. He is considered his father’s successor in politics.

Kainerugaba, 50, is considered a possible successor to his father and President Yoweri Museveni. However Museveni has denied this.

However, many political analysts believe that he is gradually establishing himself in politics and may claim the presidency in the future.

According to reports, Museveni has been in power in Uganda since 1986, so if a son is considered the successor, then it sends a message that power is being transferred to the same family.

Had offered 100 cows in exchange for marriage with Meloni

This is not the first time that he has made such a demand. In 2022, he had offered 100 cows in exchange for marriage with Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni.

At that time he had said that if Italy rejected the offer, Rome would have to be captured. After this statement his father President Museveni had to apologize.

He also threatened to attack Kenya in 2022. He had said that it would not take even two weeks to capture Nairobi. After this he was temporarily removed from the post and the government had to apologize.

Supported Russia in the Russia-Ukraine war

Earlier, he had supported Vladimir Putin in the Russia-Ukraine war and had also made controversial statements regarding the Turkana community of Kenya.

In February 2022, he tweeted that Russian President Vladimir Putin is right and many black people of the world are with Russia. After this, in March 2023, he also said that if there was any threat to Moscow, Uganda would send its army.

In October 2022, his another statement worsened relations with Kenya. He said that his forces could capture Nairobi in less than two weeks. After this statement his father and President Yoweri Museveni had to apologize to Kenya.
