India has protested against China giving fake names to places in Arunachal Pradesh. The Foreign Ministry said on Sunday that such false claims cannot change the reality on the ground. Arunachal Pradesh was, is and will remain an integral and inseparable part of India.

China has been deciding its own names for some places in Arunachal Pradesh and claiming them. India rejected such a move saying that it is a part of India. There can be no change in this. China has changed the names of 62 Indian places in the last 9 years.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal gave this statement in response to a media question. Issuing a press note, he wrote that India completely rejects the fake names given to parts of its territory. It is a mischievous attempt by China to decide on such names.

Here, China has created a new county named ‘Senling’ in Xinjiang region. It was approved on 26 March. This area is near the Karakoram region. Which is located close to the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). County is an administrative unit of China, which is similar to a district.

Warning of impact on relations between the two countries

India said that such steps of China affect the efforts to normalize relations between the two countries. China should avoid such steps that bring negativity into relations and weaken the process of building better understanding. This reaction from India has come at a time when there is tension between the two countries regarding Ladakh.

Created a county in Xinjiang for the third time in a year

China has created a new county named ‘Senling’ in the Xinjiang region. For the third time in the last one year, China has created a new county in Xinjiang. Before this, ‘Hian’ and ‘Hekang’ counties were created. A large part of Hien County falls in the Aksai Chin region, which India considers part of Ladakh.

Connection to Silk Route and CPEC

The new county is connected to the Kashgar region, which was an important center of the ancient Silk Road. The Silk Road was a historical trade route that connected China with Central Asia and Europe.

Today this area is also the center of the beginning of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The project passes through Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), which India considers a violation of its sovereignty. Although the boundaries of Senling County are not clear, India has expressed concern over such administrative changes near sensitive border areas.
